The DT Swiss EX 1700 Classic Rear Wheel is built to handle aggressive trail and enduro riding, delivering the strength, reliability, and low maintenance performance you need when pushing hard on technical terrain. Designed as a true gravity workhorse, it combines DT Swiss durability with a responsive, controlled ride feel.

At the core is the upgraded DT Swiss 350 rear hub, now featuring the advanced 72-tooth Ratchet DEG DF freehub system. This provides fast, precise engagement for efficient power transfer, while also offering tool-free anti-pedal kickback adjustment. With 20°, 10°, or 0° float settings, you can fine-tune pedal feedback to suit your suspension setup and riding style.

The CLASSIC flange hub design with J-bend spokes delivers a more forgiving ride and keeps servicing simple. This traditional spoke interface not only improves compliance over rough terrain but also makes spoke replacement quick and straightforward—ideal for riders who want easy, long-term maintenance.

Built around new asymmetrical, usage-tuned alloy rims, the EX 1700 rear wheel offers improved build stability and reduced weight compared to previous EX models. The rim profile is optimised for strength and control, helping the wheel track consistently through demanding descents and high-load situations.

Ratchet DEG DF System - 

DEG” stands for Degressive Engagement, meaning the system uses a high tooth count (typically 72T) for fast pickup, but with a revised tooth profile that reduces internal friction and wear compared to traditional high-engagement ratchets. This results in smoother operation under load and improved long-term reliability.

The “DF” (Dynamic Float) element introduces adjustable anti-pedal kickback, allowing riders to choose between different float settings (typically 20°, 10°, or 0°). This helps reduce feedback through the pedals caused by suspension movement—particularly useful on high-pivot or aggressive suspension designs.
